OF Alex Pond:

Hello Everyone!

We are excited to announce that we have just hired a Youth Organizing Director, Brianna Koerth.
Brianna just finished up her senior year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She most recently served as the Chair of the College Democrats of Wisconsin. Previously, she has interned for Tammy Baldwin for Senate and the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. In 2016, she was a campus organizer for the coordinatedcampaign on UW Madison’s campus. We are thrilled to have her join our team as we get to work early to engage young Democrats across the state!

We are currently accepting Fall Fellows Applications & we need your help spreading the word far & wide!! This is a great program for anyone who is interested in learning and developing their own organizing skills. Fellows will work in communities across the state to help build and support our local neighborhood teams and help to lay the groundwork for a successful 2020! Please send this link to anyone you know who may be interested:

Next Week: Our monthly DPW Grassroots Call will be held next Tuesday, August 27th at 6 pm. Thismonth’s call will have special guest, Courtney Beyer, Communication Director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. We will discuss messaging & social media best practices, as well as exciting upcoming events. We would love to have you and your team members join the call! Here is the dial-in information:605-562-0400, using the access code: 428 0380#.

Coming Soon: We are hosting Regional Volunteer Trainings across the state. As I've mentioned before, we have TWO trainings happening across the North in September! You can find the details and sign-up links below!

North Central Training: Sunday, September 8th from 2:30pm to 5:30pm @ the Marathon County Democratic Party Office
Northwest Training: Saturday, September 21st from 9:30am t0 12:30pm @ the Eau Claire County Democratic Party Resource Center

The more the merrier! Please invite anyone that you think might be interested in helping us build the long- term progressive fabric of Wisconsin.

These trainings will be geared toward sharing best practices, building stronger teams and building up our capacity for our One Year to Win Weekend of Action (11/2-11/3) and beyond! Our One Year to Win Weekend of Action will be incredibly important in getting out & establishing relationship with persuadable voters as well as identifying those in our database with no data. We know these races will come down to just a handful of votes, so making sure we get there early to find, win over & turnout every supporter will be crucial!

Thank you for your continued involvement and we look forward to continuing the work forward, together! All the best,

The Wisconsin Leader Development (WILD) project is holding a 2.5-day workshop for organizers, activists, and movement leaders in Wausau from July 25-27. Workshop website is here.

Bill Hogseth is recruiting a team comprised of interested folks from the different county parties in this region to attend the workshop together and bring some of the organizing skills back to our teams in the Chippewa Valley.

The workshop is designed for groups of 5-8 to attend together and sharpen their skills to build relationships, structure effective teams, develop strategy, launch campaigns, recruit volunteers, and use stories to communicate shared values. It is an excellent experience and those from Eau Claire who have taken it, recommend the workshop highly.

Help Us Improve Our Activities and Outreach

In any given general election, there are a minimum of approximately 10,000 Chippewa County voters who tend to vote Democratic. Yet only a fraction of our neighbors are active in their local county Democratic Party. We would like to engage in more outreach, increase participation beyond elections, and grow our membership. But before we do that, we'd like to start by asking our current and recent members about your preferences and ideas for strengthening your local party.

Please take about 2 minutes and click through an anonymous online survey that can help us design public outreach around the issues and activities most in line with Chippewa County progressives.

The survey can be found at this link.

Thank you very much.
